With their primary car still at the chassis shop following a
tough outing at Pensacola, Horak Racing's crew chief Neal Cantor
and the rest of the HR team worked tirelessly to prep their backup
car in the days leading up to the Matt Hawkins Memorial 100 at
Lanier Speedway. With practice rained out on Friday, the team had
not made a lap in the car prior to race day. Though the qualifying
effort reflected unfamiliarity with the car - starting 32nd, Cantor
and Beattie Racing Chief Kyle Beattie utilized several cautions and
a predetermined race strategy to adjust on the car, yielding a lead
lap 14th place finish for driver Terry Horak. Following the race
Horak said "14th feels like a win for us tonight after my guys
worked so hard all week getting our backup car together. I can't be
more proud of the team we have assembled to chase the ASA SAT
points in 2009."
