Horak Racing brought home another solid finish in the season
finale for the HutchBSR Pro Late Model Series recording a
satisfying seventh place finish on an important double points
night. For Terry Horak and crew Chief, Neal Cantor, double
points meant the opportunity to improve on their sixth place
standing entering the event, and that's just what they
did.
A two hour rain delay following 27 laps of green flag action
gave Neal, Terry and crew member Don Nance plenty of time to
strategize about chassis adjustments necessary to improve the
car. Once the green flag flew again, it was clear that the
boys made the right adjustments as the #28 Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka
machine was running at pace with the leaders.
After several laps of action the caution flag flew from an
incident between a couple of front running cars and debris was
scattered throughout the backstretch. All seemed fine with
Terry's car but when the race went back green it only took a few
laps to discover that the right rear had been cut. A quick
pit stop performed by the swift Beattie Racing crew left Terry only
2 laps down to the leaders. But Horak fought back to salvage
a solid seventh place finishing position among the largest field of
pro late models the series had seen all year. It was not the
finish the team had hoped for but was far enough ahead of other
points contenders to propel Team Horak to fourth place in the final
HutchBSR Pro Late Model Series points standings for 2010; an
accomplishment that far exceeded the team's goals for
2010.
Next up, Horak Racing will be loading up the Sunoco National
Tour car and heading to the Tennessee 100 on August 28th
at the 1.33 mile Nashville Superspeedway. Horak's 2010 Camaro
hasn't seen action since Rockingham in May, and the whole team is
excited to see how it performs on the super fast tri-oval in
Nashville. Furthermore, Horak Racing can't wait to take the
Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka machine to whiskey country and show them
how it's done.
