Horak Rolls Double Sixes on Doubleheader Weekend...
Two days, two tracks, two series
and two strong sixth place finishes for Horak Racing over the big
doubleheader weekend at Rockingham and Concord, North
Carolina.
On Friday, team Horak was proud to
welcome Atlantic Eye Associates as primary sponsor for the Sunoco
National Tour Rockingham 100 as Terry put the 2010 Camaro solidly
in the field by qualifying in the fifth position. However,
the crew made a strategic decision to pull the car out of impound
to check out a couple of motor issues. This would force Horak
to start at the rear of the very stout field as they took to the
high banked one mile oval. By the time the race was a quarter
of the way finished Horak had regained all of the positions lost at
the start and was making ground on the leaders.
Unfortunately, the tough Rockingham speedway threw Terry a
curveball that lead to an untimely rendezvous with the inside wall
coming off turn two ending their day a little early. The
record books will show Horak finishing sixth for the day.
Crew chief Neal Cantor and the rest
of the team hustled the hauler back to the Beattie Racing shop in
Locust, North Carolina for a quick nocturnal swap to the Pro Late
Model for Saturday's HutchBSR Pro Five race at Concord. A
full field of stout pro late models showed up to battle each other
and the tough half mile tri-oval. With limited practice,
Terry wheeled the Impala to a ninth place starting position.
By the time the caution flew after a long green flag run, Horak had
gained a few spots but the team decided to pit and make a quick
track bar adjustment. Quick work in the pits by Don Nance and
Eric Beattie got the #28 back out in short order and gave Horak the
cornering advantage he'd been looking for to climb all the way back
up through the field and finish a strong sixth on the night.
It was a great race for the team recording another solid points
night in the second event of the five race series.
Horak Racing would like to say a
special thanks to Emily McFadden with Atlantic Eye Associates and
Amanda Kinsith with Carolina & Company for making our day at
Rockingham very special. Thanks for all of your
support.
