Mother Nature wins at ORP...

The Horak Racing boys were off to a good start in the team's first visit to O'Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Friday's rain shortened practice left the team fairly comfortable with their set-up and looking forward to Saturday's full schedule of practice, qualifying and racing.  Morning brought a dryer outlook for the weather allowing the team to tweak the car a bit more and give Terry a little more seat time around tough ol' ORP.  By virtue of a decent qualifying run and a lucky invert, the 28 would start 3rd on the field for the scheduled 200 lap race.  Horak kept pace with the leaders running 6th for much of the first part of the race.  However, as the laps rolled on, the clouds began to build into a ferocious storm that sent spotters scrambling for safety from high atop the press box.  On lap 78 with buckets of rain blowing sideways, Sunoco National Tour series officials were forced to postpone the event to a future date.

One bright note for the weekend, Horak Racing's good friend Jim Fluharty dominated the Thunder Roadster race and won by an overwhelming margin.  With the help of Neal Cantor on the spotter's stand, Jim put a half-track spanking on the tough field and brought home one of the most coveted trophies in Thunder Roadster racing.  Congratulations to Jim and his team.  Check him out at fluhartyracing.com .
