Solid Start for Tour Car
3-27-2010
It was a very solid start to the season for the Horak Racing
SponsorSPEED.com Camaro...
Horak Racing's debut in the SUNOCO National Tour at New Smyrna
Speedway yielded a strong seventh place finish for the team in
their first event sporting the new 2010 Camaro body. With
crew chief Neal Cantor calling the shots, Horak stayed near the top
of the speed charts throughout the practice sessions on both Friday
and Saturday. With positions 2 through 9 only separated by
0.15 seconds in qualifying, Horak was pleased to be solidly in the
field with the seventh quick speed; and even happier to learn that
the top eight positions would be inverted putting Horak on the
outside pole for the start. At the mandatory half way pit
stop on lap 100, Horak was running mid pack and on the lead
lap. Unfortunately, in the second half of the race, Horak's
#28 Camaro suffered damage from an accident ahead in the pack but
was able to continue thanks to his savvy pit crew. Despite
the damage, Horak was very pleased with the 7th place
finish and even happier for the team's new sponsor
SponsorSPEED.com.
