In their ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour debut, Horak Racing with Terry Horak behind the wheel scored an impressive ninth place finish at Mobile International Speedway after starting deep in the field at 24th position. With all practice sessions rained out in the two days leading up to the double header event at Mobile & Pensacola, the #28 team focused on race set up knowing that handling and drive-ability would be key in the first race for the series in 2009. That notion proved to be accurate as the 100 lap event was filled with cautions and Horak managed to dodge numerous incidents en route to their first top ten finish of the season. Though Neal Cantor and the rest of the HR crew had to work deep into the night to straighten body panels and bumpers prior to the next day's race at Pensacola, the team regarded the Mobile outing as a successful start to the 2009 ASA SAT season.
